Soapy's two specialties are cracking safes and cheating at poker, two major moral strikes against him in the Old West.
Origin[]
During the ride to Piper Lake from the Badlands, he confides to Cole the origin of his nickname: he was cornered in a lady friend's bedroom by her husband, and was forced to hide inside the shaft of her water closet – after which he had to scrub for three days before he could get the smell off of him.
